Bayan Muna Partylist Rep. Teddy Casiño gave school supplies to some 600 children Friday at the Norkis Park in Mandaue City.
Casiño’s Batang Mag-aaral Project gave free school supplies to 600 children from barangays Subangdaku, Labogon and Centro.
Casino also handed checks amounting to P50,000 to 15 beneficiaries of Subangdaku’s scholarship program.
Subangdaku Barangay Captain Ernie Manatad said he requested Casiño to allot an amount from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (Pdaf) for the barangay’s scholarship program, which caters to poor but deserving students who want to go to college.
Casiño said he used P250,000 of his Pdaf for the school supplies distributed to the Mandaue children.
“We want to help the parents defray expenses for their children’s school supplies,” he said.
