The second batch of 16 land beneficiaries in the city-government owned lot in South Fundidor, Molo district was given a Christmas gift of land tenure security by Iloilo city Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog recently.
The city chief executive inked a memorandum of agreement with the beneficiaries for land ownership of the land they are occupying for several years.
City councilor Joshua Alim, chairman of the SP committee on the urban poor, said the beneficiaries will have to pay the city of P220 monthly amortization in 10 years for the land they occupying.
A total of 72 beneficiaries are slated to be awarded their land security after all documents are completed. So far, only 32 have completed their documents are given their land tenure with a MOA not to sell their awarded lots.
