This city has garnered three awards from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during the Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) awarding ceremony held here on Thursday.
Iloilo City won the Best in Administrative Governance, first runner-up in Best in Social Services and second runner-up as Best Performing City in the whole Western Visayas for the city category.
This is the second year that the city has received the Best in Administrative Governance award under Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.
“These awards conferred by the DILG shows that we have a well-managed, transparent and innovative governance towards the city’s continued progress,” Mabilog said.
The mayor received the plaque and P10,000 cash prize for the Best in Administrative Governance award, and certificates for the runner-up citations.
The EXCELL Awards, a project of the DILG, recognizes outstanding cities that have best practices and innovations in governance, administration, social services, economic development, environmental management, and local legislation.
