Four projects under KALAHI-Makamasang Tugon “HIPAGLAMBO”

Four huge projects under the KALAHI-Makamasang Tugon “HIPAGLAMBO” by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were inaugurated and handed over to the local government unit (LGU) of Jabonga.

Jabonga municipal Mayor Glicerio M. Monton Jr. bared that the four projects are the following: Barangay Health Station in Barangay A. Beltran, Day Care Center in Barangay Bangonay, and a one unit two classroom school building in Barangays Bunga and San Pablo.

Mayor Monton added that Agusan del Norte headed by Governor Erlpe John M. Amante and Jabonga assisted the completion of said projects.

Latest updates from DSWD shows around 1,200 volunteers

The invitation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for volunteers yielded positive results as people showed up at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City to offer their services.

Latest updates from DSWD showed that around 1,200 volunteers heeded their call and enlisted their services to assist in the repacking of relief goods for distribution to typhoon ravaged and flood affected families in several provinces affected by typhoons Pedring and Quiel.

The volunteers came from different areas in Metro Manila: Philippine National Police, University of the Philippines, Caloocan City, NTHK-C Alyansa, Tuloy sa Don Bosco School, UNAEV Electrical, Inc., DSWD employees and several individuals.

DSWD Projects for Women

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that it has turned over a check amounting to P96,000 to a woman’s group in Barangay Bayanihan, San Narciso, Quezon province undergoing livelihood training under the agency’s Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) program.

DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman said the money will be used to help poor families put up livelihood projects such as livestock and fish raising, vending or sari-sari store.

The check was formally handed to Zheena Fontanilla, head of the Bayanihan women’s group.

The amount to be received by each beneficiary is payable within two years without interest.

The group submitted a project proposal for such project last July. It was finally approved by the DSWD on August 15.

Soliman also said that as of Sept. 10, a total of 570 families in three towns in Quezon province were given livelihood loan assistance by the DSWD through SEA-K program.

The recipients were 350 families in San Francisco, 140 families in Buenavista, and 80 families in San Narciso.
