Implementation of the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP)

Aside from the different scholarship programs that Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) offers, TESDA-CNSAT (Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trades) is currently working for the smooth implementation of the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) hopefully this year.

TWSP is a scholarship program intended for those aging 18 years old and above, unemployed, have not previously availed of TWSP, trainable in any skill needed by the industries, preferably qualified beneficiaries of Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program of the government.

Qualified TWSP beneficiaries are to be trained on the skills needed by the industries and certified for national competency to ensure their employment after graduation.

Newly-appointed Tourism Secretary-Ramon Reyes Jimenez Jr.

Newly-appointed Tourism Secretary Ramon Reyes Jimenez Jr. over the weekend called on the Filipino people to support and participate in government efforts to promote the country as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

Jimenez also underscored the important role of the citizenry in promoting the tourism programs the government.

Jimenez was personally chosen for the tourism top post by President Benigno S. Aquino III after former DOT chief Alberto Lim resigned.

He said that as the new tourism chief, his job challenges him to generate employment by increasing the number of tourist influx in the country.
