Families of five schoolchildren who drowned receives financial assistance

Families of the five schoolchildren who drowned while crossing the Nagpana River in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo last Monday will receive financial assistance from the provincial government of Iloilo.

This was the assurance given by Provincial Administrator Raul Banias in a radio interview Wednesday.

Banias said each victim will get P3,000 from the provincial government and this will be released to their respective families as soon as they submit the needed requirements such as the original copy of the victim’s death certificate.

He said they will also endorse that the families of victim be helped by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of the Civil Defense.
