Philippines Negros Occidental Car Accident Claims Pregnant Woman

A pregnant woman and her son were killed, while 24 others were injured when the passenger mini bus they were riding on fell from a bridge in Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Himamaylan City PNP traffic investigator PO1 Rene Munez identified the victims as Rochelle Lagahit, 27 and her son Cyril John, 7, both of Barangay Tagda, Hinigaran.

Rochelle, who was five months pregnant, was declared dead on arrival at Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in the city.

The mini-bus driver, Benjie Himalaya said the bus slammed into the barrier of the bridge before plunging into a river.
