President Benigno S. Aquino III vowed Monday to complete land distribution under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform program before he steps down in 2016.
In his 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered before the joint session of the 15th Congress, the President said his administration is improving the distribution system so agrarian reform would be realized more swiftly and efficiently.
“The government is doing everything in its power to ensure that our farmers can claim as their own the land they have tilled and nurtured with their sweat,”the President said.
“We will obey the law. The law says, the nation says, and I say, ‘Before I step down, all the land covered by CARP will have been distributed,’” the President added.
